Bible Truths(For Students of the Bible /Understanding What We Read)What Is ManFor one thing is for sure God had told the dust made creature if he ate of the forbiddenfruit that he would die. To make statements without proof is only talking to the wind and itmeans nothing. Do we have the proof? We sure do for we find in Genesis 3:19 "In the sweatof thy face shalt thou eat bread tll thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken:for dust thou art unto dust shalt thou return." this was spoken to the one that became a livingl, made of the dust of the ground. Now we know that the dictionary is man made. Welook in Webster's dictionary for the definition of the word "SOUL" it is and we quote "Anentity which is regarded as being the immortal or spiritual part of a person and, thoughhaving no physical or material reality, is credited with the functions of thinking and willingand hence determining all behavior." Again we would remind you that this is man's definition. Yet as we analyze this definition we will see that it is wrong, and does not comply withthe Bible. In order for man or the soul to live the lungs must have air to inflate and this iscalled inhale to exhale to let the air out thus proving that air is material as well as the brain. For there cannot be a thought without a brain a thought can not go around think, think, think without a brain to think from. Thus proving that the Soul was made of the dust of theground and is most definitely material. This is why the Bible said man became a living soul. Therefore man is the subject of our message today. Man is the subject of Gen. 2:7. Man ismortal and subject to death. David tells us in Psalm 6:5 "in death there is remembrance ofthee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks." Again David in Psalm 89:48 "What man is hethat liveth and shall not see death shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave?" Jobspeaks to usn Job 3:-19 "Why died I not from the womb? Why didI not give up the ghostwhen I came out of the belly? Why did the knees prevent me? Or why the breasts that I shouldsuck? For now should I have lainl and been quite, I should have slept: then I had been atrest, With kings and counsellors of the earth, which built desolate places for themselves; Orwith princes that had gold, who filled their houses with silver: Or as an hidden untimely birthI had not been; as infants which never saw light. There the wicked cease from troubling andthere the weary be at rest. There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of theoppressor. The small and great are there; and the servant is free from his master. If any part ofman does not die and the part of man that does not die is the real person, Job could have neversaid The small and great are there there the weary be at rest, he could never say that he shouldhave slept." Psa. 89:48 What man is he that liveth and shall not see death? Shall he deliver hissoul from the hand of the grave? Here again we see that the soul is more than just a puff ofwind or something that floats around. We see from the bible that it has eyes to see with, earsto hear with, lips to speak with. Then we see in Ezk.18: 4 The soul that sinneth it shall die. Inverse 20 we see the same thing. In James 5:20 a soul can be saved from death. If there is nodanger in it dying why would you need to save it in the first place? Therefore man has beeninspired by the great preachers of renown that there is no such thing as death.
