Bible Truths(For Students of the Bible /Understanding What We Read)Lessons LearnedNatural man has a tendency to make decisions based onwhat he thinks is right (Proverbs 14:12). Where did thistype of thinking start? God gave man the first recordedcommandment: "And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But ofthe tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat ofit..." (Gen 2:16,17). Adam and Eve completely disregardedthe truth and went along with there own thinking. Due tothe error of man, in the Garden of Eden, the death sentencewas passed on to all of mankind (1st Corth 15:22). So don'tblame God for death, blame Adam. Do you realize we allhave the same chance at everlasting life as Adam and Evehad? There is some forbidden fruit out there that we arecommanded to stay away from. This forbidden frui isanything taught contrary to the word of God. Just as motherEve was deceived, there is deception going on today. Weare to heed this commandment: "Let no man deceive youby any means..." (2nd Thes 2:3). Remember, when Eve wasdeceived into taking the forbidden fruit she; "saw the treewas good for food...pleasant to the eyes". To keep from beingdeceived, we are instructed to: "Keep thee far from a falsematter" (Ex23:7). "Prove all things"(1st Thes 5:21). Study toshew thyself approved"(2nd Tim 2:15). There is no excusefor being deceived. God means what he says. Jesus says:"Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth" (Math:5:5). Jesus called himself a man.
